Short Read of the Week for June 23, 2022

We had a near unanimous decision on the one article every Tillamook County Democrat should read this week if you don’t read anything else. It’s a terrific letter to the editor of the Corvallis Gazette-Times, written by Wayne Spletstoser, a retired teacher of chemistry and mathematics:

After you read it, look at the data in Who Stops a Bad Guy With a Gun? How can anyone honestly say that our gun laws make sense?

We also chose to recommend this report from the Oregon Health Authority:

This problem is real, and it is with us right now, not something that may happen some day. If it makes you feel helpless, join the club. But by that we mean something a little less cynical than it sounds. Join US. There is no better place to be in the fight.
